About me

My name is Gianpaolo. I am robotics enthusiast who researchs novel solutions for innovative robotic devices that can efficiently interact with human partners in the Industry 4.0. Socially, economically and environmentally sustainable robotics is what I am passionate about and my research interests place robots and smart manufacturing machines as the principal actors of a sustainable industrial scenario. Automating undesired tasks and programming robots to replace humans in dirty, dangerous and dull tasks is a fundamental precondition to enhance creativity and meaningful interactions in joint tasks. I love sharing my enthusiasm for automatic intelligent applications in different scientific areas. Please, feel free to contact me to share ideas on new exciting projects.

My research interests are mainly focused on, but not limited to, the following topics:
  • Human robotics
  • Sustainable robotics
  • Learning-by-doing
  • Motion control
  • Bio-inspired robotics
  • Robotics for Dirty, Dangerous and Dull tasks
  • Smart Manufacturing
  • Human-like motion generation
  • Naturalistic avoidance of obstacles
  • Life-like devices
